Veteran musician Master Tongole is currently in the studio working on his sixth album set for release next month.
The former Zembani Band member said Wednesday that he wants to add to the collection of the five albums he has dropped including Mazunzo, Nzeru Zatha, Wakula Watha and Mbina Yanjoka.
“I have made progress in the studio but I am not rushing. The industry has changed now; there are more musicians and if we are to give people the best, then we have to strive for quality,” Tongole said.
He admitted that he has been out of the limelight for long and that he has been asked by people now and again as to whether he was still faithful to his artistry.
“I have come a long way and music for me is something I am passionate about. Apart from the new album, I am also looking at compiling some of my old songs to release Best of Master Tongole,” he said.
Tongole also said, since he started music, he does not have any music videos on the market and, so, he is looking into producing music videos.
“We need to move with the trends. Where we are coming from music videos were not that popular but now it is a must to do that. People are in love with music videos and, so, I am looking at that and with time I also intend to do collaborations with these young musicians,” he said.
Tongole then urged fellow veteran musicians to wake up from slumber and embrace the current trends by producing music videos for their visibility as well as collaborating with young artists.
