Masters don’t go down— Zacharia Nyirenda

Masters Security Services FC General Secretary, Zacharia Nyirenda, has told critics to stop reading too much into the team’s poor start to the 2018 TNM Super League season.

Masters have lost thrice and drawn once this season, but Nyirenda said the team was just going through a bad patch.

“We are playing entertaining football but we are just unlucky that we are failing to find the back of the net. We are not yet out and we will soon bounce back,” he said.

Masters started the season with a 1-1 draw against Civil Sporting Club before losing to defending champions Be Forward Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks by 1-0 margins.

On Tuesday, Blue Eagles clobbered the Alfred Gangata-owned side 4-0 at Nankhaka Ground in Lilongwe.

Former Nyasa Big Bullets and Wanderers striker, Andrew Chikhosi, said it was too early to rule out Masters.

“It is not too late for them. We cannot judge them based on just four games. I hope that they will soon get the results,” he said.

Masters recruited several players including Chimwemwe Kumkwawa, Zeliati Nkhoma, Suwedi Limbani, Rafik Mussa and Kondwani Lufeyo before the start of the season.

Last week, the team suspended Coach, Abasi Makawa, due to alleged insubordination.

Masters defied all odds when they participated in the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup but exited the competition to Angola’s Petro de Luanda 5-0 on aggregate in the first-round.
