Masters pluck Eagles feathers

Masters Security

Blue Eagles impressive run in all competitions came to a halt Wednesday when they lost 2-1 to bottom-placed Masters Security FC at Nankhaka Stadium.

Before the game, Eagles had been flying in all competitions but they finally met their match in Masters who are battling for their life in the top flight league.

Ruben Kaunda opened the scoring for Masters but Micium Mhone equalised for Eagles from the penalty spot.

Maneno Nyoni scored the winner for Masters.

The win for Masters could be a big boost for them as they battle for survival in the TNM Super League.

Despite the result, the two remained static on the log table as Eagles are third with 47 points from 25 games whereas Masters anchor the log table with 20 points from 26 games.

Masters Assistant Coach, Jabil Maliro, was optimistic of escaping the drop zone.

“It is not over and we will still fight to the wire. We have to play for our life in TNM Super League remaining games,” he said.
