Carlsberg Cup champions Masters Security have expressed interest in signing midfielder Kondwani Kumwenda following his release from Nyasa Big Bullets.
Bullets have released Kumwenda alongside striker Collen Nkhulambe as they are not in coach Kalisto Pasuwa’s plans for the season.
Masters owner Alfred Gangata said their assistant coach, Elia Kananji, a former Bullets mentor, recommended the recruitment of Kumwenda.
“Kumwenda is a free agent and we are discussing some things with him. Chances are high that we will take him on board. Elia has spoken highly of Kumwenda and it will be nice if the pair reunite at Masters,” he said.
Masters are hunting for replacements, having lost midfielder Francis Mkonda and striker Babatunde Adepoju to Be Forward Wanderers.
Kumwenda said, as a free agent, he was discussing possible deals with some teams.
“I am still a good player and I will prove it. It was difficult for others to appreciate my skills and abilities due to lack of game time,” he said.
