Struggling TNM Super League side Masters Security are hoping to sort out their coach crisis by hiring former Civil Sporting Club coach Millias ‘Jegwe’ Pofera.
Masters are without a coach and an assistant following the departure of Abbas Makawa and his second-in-command Elia Kananji.
Makawa is now at Silver Strikers as Young Chimodzi’s assistant while Kananji picked up the same post at Civil.
Masters General Secretary, Christopher Njeula, said they need to replace the two and get their campaign back on track.
Njeula said Pofera, currently coaching Chipiku Central Region Football League Premier Division side Luanar FC, was one of their targets to replace Makawa.
“We are indeed working hard to replace Makawa and Kananji but this would depend on the availability of coaches on the market. If things do not work out, we will do with our interim coach Jabil Maliro.
“Our Chairman Mr [Alfred] Gangata is talking to Mr Pofera and we will see what happens. Mr Pofera is one of the coaches who wish us well and we believe he will come to our rescue. The only challenge is that he already has a club,” Njeula said.
Pofera confirmed being approached by Masters but asked for more time before commenting on the matter.
Masters are stuck on position 14 in the top flight league with 13 points from 16 games.
