Masters Security fined

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has fined Masters Security FC for failing to honour their last TNM Super League match against Nyasa Big Bullets on Saturday.
Sulom fined Masters K1 million for putting football into disrepute, following their no-show at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre.
Sulom also fined Masters K600, 000 and K 500, 000 for failing to control their players and not fulfilling the fixture, respectively.
The league governing body’s General Secretary, Williams Banda, said the fine was in line with rules and regulations.
“They are yet to respond but it is true that we have fined them. They have a right to appeal but they must pay [the fine] before playing any official match.
“We have also warned them that they should not commit a similar offence for a year and, once they do it again, they would be expelled from the elite league,” Banda said.
Masters General Secretary, Zachariah Nyirenda, said the club would respond to Sulom after consulting lawyers.
“Actually, we met as an Executive Committee and reviewed the scenario but we have accepted these fines,” Nyirenda said.
Masters failed to honour the fixture as players boycotted the match over unpaid game bonuses dating back to November 2017.
Sulom has also fined Mafco K1.5 million for failing to control their players and officials during the match they lost 2-1 to Nyasa Big Bullets at Chitowe Stadium on December 3.
Sulom has also banned Mafco players Zikhole Ngulube, Martin Masoatheka, Maurice Chiumia and Emmanuel Chipeta for five official matches from next season.
Players Calisto Kalinda and Dingiswayo Banda have also been banned for three matches.
