Masters Security hire Audrow Makonyola

In a bid to survive TNM Super League relegation, Masters Security have engaged the services of former Blue Eagles coach Audrow Makonyola.
Masters Security anchor the log table with 17 points from 22 matches.
The Lilongwe-based outfit has been hunting for a qualified coach following the departure of Abasi Makawa and his assistant Eliya Kananji.
Makawa went to Silver while Kananji joined Civil Sporting in August.
Since the departure of the two, Jabil Maliro has been acting as the team’s mentor.
The 2018 Carlsberg Cup champions also lost key players Babatunde Adepoju, Francis Mkonda, Vincent Nyangulu, Eric Atsigah and Mphatso Dzongololo to Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers.
Masters owner, Alfred Gangata, said Makonyola is capable of rescuing his club from relegation.
Gangata said the former Blue Eagles mentor’s major task is to ensure that Masters win their remaining Super League matches and perform well in the Fisd Challenge Cup.
“Makonyala is experienced on how to manage players and we need his services to escape relegation. We are hopeful that he will rejuvenate our team,” Gangata said.
Makonyola, who is Malawi Police Service’s Director of Sports, said he was ready for the challenge.
“I would not want to promise much but if we work together as a team, Masters would not be relegated. I feel humbled to be given the chance to coach Masters.
“This is a big challenge to me. I have met the players and I have encouraged them that all is not lost,” he said.
Masters had an enviable record in the 2018 Super League where they finished fourth.
The team has also competed in the Caf Confederation Cup twice.
