Music Crossroads Malawi Director Mathews Mfune has been invited to the First African Forum on Music held in Mali.
The meeting was expected to start yesterday and will end on Sunday.
According to a letter from the organisers, Mfune will be one of the presenters during the forum.
The forum is being organised by African Music Council (AMC) in partnership with Cerdotola (International Centre for Research and Documentation on African Traditions and Languages), International Music Council and Foundation on Niger River.
Mfune said on Tuesday that he was happy to be part of this important forum as a presenter, adding that this will give him a chance to share stories from Malawi.
According to the letter signed by AMC President Lupwishi Mbuyamba, this forum will offer an opportunity to the AMC membership and its partners to proceed with a prospective consideration on the musical profession and a reflection on the strategy for music to have an impact on the society bringing its contribution to the development of Africa.
The organisers said Mfune had been selected taking into consideration his competences and experiences and contribute on the subject Lifelong Learning for Professionals.
