Mathews Sibale eyes Chipiku Golden Boot

Mathews Sibale of Kasungu Medicals has set himself a target of scoring more than 20 goals to win the Central Region Chipiku League Golden Boot Award.

The hot striker currently leads the way on 16 goals followed by Francis Nkonda of St Kaduya with 13 goals.

Sibale continued his excellent starting in K7.5 million Chipiku League on Saturday, scoring the lone goal in the 67th minute when his team beat Nambuma United in a game played at Kabvunguti ground in Kasungu.

The player, who joined Kasungu Medicals after a Mr. Moyo sported him during Coca- Cola games in Mzuzu, said he was enjoying a stunning first season with Kasungu Medicals.

“I have been with Kaporo United of Karonga and in Tanzania for trials, but now I want to be with Medicals [Kasungu] and bang in more goals.

“I want to win the Golden Boot Award, while at the same time help my team earn promotion to the top flight league.

“But if any Super League team comes forth looking for my services, I am ready to take the challenge,” said Sibale.

Sibale, from Namuyembya Village, TA Mwabulambya in Chitipa, said donning flames colours is his dream in order to help the country’s football team win trophies.

Born on 2nd February 1992, the Medicals forward admires Big Bullets, Fisher Kondowe for two reasons; “Hard work in the field of play and an ‘architect’ of fair play.”

Kasungu Medicals coach, Monkey Chirwa, described Sibale as a great striker who will with time, score more goals.

“He is a red-hot striker for us, and gets very well with his teammates. He is always in the right place to score goals,” said Chirwa.
