Striker Matthews Sibale could rejoin Silver Strikers if the negotiations that the two sides have started reach that level.

Before football was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sibale was on the verge of joining Be Forward Wanderers but the Lali-Lubani outfit decided against signing the former Costa do Sol striker, having captured Peter Wadabwa.

In an interview Tuesday, Sibale claimed discussions over a possible move to Silver commenced.

“I was training with Silver before football was suspended. I hope we will talk once football resumes,” Sibale, who featured for Wanderers in the Energem International tournament which Nyasa Big Bullets organised in February this year, said.

The striker reportedly met Silver new coach Daniel Kabwe before travel restrictions were put in place as he was still being assessed by the club.

Silver Chief Executive Officer, Thoko Chimbali, was in locked in a meeting yesterday.

Silver have several options upfront having signed Stain Davie from TN Stars, Foster Biton from Blue Eagles, Patrick Macheso from Dwangwa United. Ghanaian striker Michael Tetteh is also available alongside Chinsisi Maonga who was promoted from the reserve side.

As a free agent, Sibale could join a team of his choice as Fifa rules and regulations allow that. At the peak of his football career, Sibale scored vital goals for Silver.

He joined Costa after finishing as the TNM Super League top goal scorer with 16 goals in 2017. He was then released at Costa at the end of last season after struggling with injuries.

Sibale netted three goals for Costa as the Mozambican side won the Mocambola League title last season.
