Max Bullets replace Patrick Kulemeka with Trevor Kajawa

Struggling TNM Super League side, Max Bullets, have fired coach Patrick Kulemeka following the rookies’ poor run of form in the elite league.

Club owner, Maxwell Kapanda, has since announced that Trevor Kajawa will be the caretaker coach.

Max Bullets remain winless this season after collecting two points from five games. The team lies second from the bottom of the league log table.

Last weekend, the Sedi Boys travelled to Mzuzu where they lost 2-1 and 3-2 to Mzuni FC and Moyale Barracks, respectively.

It is reported that on their way to Mzuzu, there was disagreement over game bonuses and balances of signing-on fees involving defender Wachimwa Sadik, midfielders Clement Ng’ombe, Owen Kalibwanji and striker Sipho Macheso.

Kapanda accused the players of lacking discipline, saying they were not committed to delivering their best on the field of play in Mzuzu.

Kapanda yesterday confirmed the firing of Kulemeka, but insisted that the team was not in a hurry to take on board a new permanent coach.

Kapanda said he was not satisfied with the tactics of the former Surestream Academy coach Kulemeka.

“Our coach and some of my players are divided and I don’t know why. I have observed that our coach is failing to read the game. He has been telling the media that I am interfering in his job. I have told the players not to report for training until we sort out their issues,” Kapanda explained.

In reaction, Kulemeka said: “I am yet to receive the official communication from the owner of the club, but if he is saying so, who I am? If the owner has said I should go and I will. It’s part of our job as coaches get fired and hired”.

Max Bullets fired coach Leo Mpulula with only two weeks to go before the kick-off of the new season.
