Mbayani Heaven Door in DVD launch

Blantyre-based gospel group, Mbayani Heaven Door from M’bawa CCAP Church, makes a long trip to the capital, Lilongwe, this Sunday to launch a DVD of their fourth album titled Kulitsani Malire at Zambezi Church Open Theatre.

The group’s chairperson Osborne Mtenje said on Wednesday they have been planning for this launch for some time.

“We could have launched this DVD by now but Covid affected us but we did not give up and now, here we are, God has made it that we launch it this time around,” Mtenje said.

Mtenje said, apart from launching the DVD, the show is also part of reaching out to people ,having not held concerts for some time.

“With Covid it’s been difficult for artists to hold concerts, especially with restrictions. We are also taking this launch as a time to interact with the people and minister the word of God. It is also a time to offer hope during this time,” he said.

The launch will see Mbayani Heaven Choir sharing the stage with acts such as Marvelous Deeds, Kamuzu Barracks and Eliza Mponya.

The DVD has 10 songs and was shot by Stiah Pingasa of Biz Graphics. Some of the songs in the DVD include ‘Paine Ndekha’ and ‘Tawoloka’.

The group was formed in 1987 and has 18 members at the moment.

Mbayani Heaven Door’s previous albums include Ayankha Pemphero, Mwapambana Zonse and Undilonderanji.
