Mchinji Boys step in with 3rd prize in Ka Jive

Mchinji Boys, well known in supporting boxing circles in the country, Thursday announced that it offer the third prize in Ka Jive Dance competition Season Four.
Organisers Times Group said during the launch of the dance competition that the winner will walk away with K1 million and the runner up pocketing K400,000.
However, Mchinji Boys led by Justice Katika, said they thought of support Times Group by pumping in K150,000 for the third prize winner.
“I have been following this competition for some time and I am happy with it. There is so much that the groups put into and I thought it was important for us to support with the third prize,” Katika said.
He described the competition as a good platform for the youth to showcase their dance talent.
“Dance is a unique talent. It is high time it got the respect it deserves. All these music videos we watch, dance is in there. You go to boxing or different events, you will see people dancing to songs and that just shows how important it is to the society,” Katika said.
He hailed Times Group for creating such a platform and called on well-wishers and the corporate world to support the competition.
“By participating in such competitions, young people have something to do and thereby avoiding engaging in unnecessary behaviours,” Katika said.
The competition held its last audition tomorrow at Times Group Entertainment Studio in Blantyre where 10 groups are expected to be selected to go to the next round to join 20 groups which made it through in the previous auditions.
