Medson Kalambule, Margret Mkwanda shine in Ecobank golf
Seasoned golfer Medson Kalambule on Sunday emerged winner of the 2015 Ecobank Golf Tournament played at Country Club Limbe in Blantyre.
Kalambule chalked 39 points to beat a field of 56 male golfers who participated in the event.
Kalambule counted out Dr Guerino who settled for position two ahead of John-Gift Mwakhwawa.
In a post-match interview, Kalambule attributed his success to concentration throughout the 18-hole tournament.
In the ladies category, veteran golfer Margret Mkwanda scored 43 points to emerge the champion.
Mkwanda outclassed 18 other golfers. E. Kavala was second while Lilian Kawaza completed the podium finishes in the category.
Ecobank managing director, Charles Asiedu, promises that his bank will be back at club next year.
“We were here last year and we promised that we will be here this year and we have fulfilled our promise. This shows that as a bank, we honour or promises.
“Last year, we promised to bring Mastercard and Visa on our ATMs as well as bringing Point of Sale devices. Today, I can comfortably say that we have managed to fulfil that promise,” Asiedu said.
