Mighty Be Forward Wanderers new kit delayed further
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers might wait a little bit longer before receiving their official kit for the 2015/16 season as Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has disclosed that the new uniform would not be ready until end of June.
Last month, Sulom announced that the new kit would arrive by mid-May, but on Thursday the league governing body acting spokesperson, Tiya Somba-Banda, confirmed that the new kit has delayed because of logistical challenges.
“It is in the process of procurement and we hope to have the kit by the end of June. There was a mix up in Japan and USA because the manufacturers were not sure if it was an order for replica jerseys or match day jerseys, but all is fine now. The supplier is in the process of making the jerseys,” said Somba-Banda, who is Sulom treasurer.
As par t of sponsorship agreement, Nomads embraced Be Forward colours of orange and black from their traditional blue and white.
In an interview, Wanderers’ general secretary, Mike Butao said in the absence of a new kit the team was using one kit.
“We are still waiting for the new kit but in the meantime we are using the kit we used during Be Forward launch which we added the TNM logo.
In case of two games in a weekend, we are forced to wash at night after the game so that we can use it the following day,” said Butao.
Nomads were condemned by Sulom for using a jersey which had no TNM logo during their opening game against Epac, a development that forced Nomads to add the logo on the Be Forward jersey.
Every season, TNM through Sulom procure two sets of uniforms for each club.
