Mighty Mukuru Wanderers cautious of host Chitipa United

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Coach Mark Harrison has told his charges to double their efforts when they host Chitipa United in the TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon.
Heading into the tie, the Nomads are second on the log table with 14 points from six matches, just behind defending champions and leaders FCB Nyasa Bullets on goal difference.
If they beat Chitipa, Wanderers will leapfrog Bullets at the summit of the log table.
On the part of Chitipa, they are also a good side that can cause upsets at any stage. They are on position eight on the log table with seven points from six matches.
Harrison said his charges must exercise caution in today’s match.
“We need to treat every opponent equally and also get our job properly. We give every team respect and make sure we go with the right altitude to win the match,’’ Harrison said.
Chitipa have just returned to the top flight league having spent last season in the second-tier.
But when the two sides met in 2021, Wanderers collected all the six points against Chitipa in the league.
The Nomads beat Chitipa 2-0 at Karonga Stadium in the first round before a 3-0 victory at Kamuzu Stadium.
Chitipa Coach Macdonald Mtetemera refused to grant us an interview yesterday.
In this tie, the Nomads will be without attacker Gaddie Chirwa due to suspension following his red card against Bangwe All Stars last week.
However, Wanderers have talent in abundance.
Christopher Kumwembe, Mphatso Kamanga, Mishek Bottoman and Vincent Nyangulu are all available for selection.
Mtetemera has assembled a good squad capable of beating any team.
In other matches, Mafco will host Extreme FC at Chitowe Ground whereas Ekwendeni Hammers will meet Karonga United at Mzuzu Stadium.
