Mighty Wanderers return to the pitch this afternoon fancying their chances of lifting the TNM Super League title.

Wanderers did themselves a big favour on Sunday by edging their bitter rivals Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The win put the Nomads among the three teams that have chances of lifting the championship.

As they line up against Ekwendeni Hammers this afternoon at the soccer mecca, Wanderers will be hoping to collect full points again as they dream about the title.

The Lali Lubani Road side is just five points behind league leaders Bullets and four behind second placed Silver Strikers.

Bullets have 56 points from 28 matches while Silver have 55 from the same number of matches.

Wanderers have three matches to wind up the season.

Nomads coach Bob Mpinganjira said he would not underrate Ekwendeni because of the victory over Bullets.

Mpinganjira said he had warned his charges to approach the match with caution, as Ekwendeni have been a good side since the start of the season.

“This is a crucial game for us as we chase Bullets and Silver. We are coming from a win over Bullets and morale in our camp is high. We want to win this game in order to boost our chances of winning the league title,” Mpinganjira said.

Hammers coach Etson Kadenge-Mwafulirwa said his charges were ready for Wanderers.

“Our mission in Blantyre is to beat Wanderers and reclaim our top eight slot in the TNM Super League. We are here to win the match. We started the league on a high but now we are out of the top eight. We do not want to lose points at this stage. The boys are geared for the match,” Kadenge- Mwafulirwa said.

Hammers are 10th on the log table with 38 points from 27 matches.

In another match scheduled for this afternoon, TN stars will host Red Lions at Kasungu Stadium.
