Former Flames coach Eddingtone Ng’onamo has been confirmed as Mighty Wanderers Coach and Technical Director following the reshuffling of the team’s coaching panel.

Wanderers released their squad for the up-coming season on Wednesday night, showing Ng’onamo at the helm following the firing of Bob Mpinganjira due to the team’s poor performance.

Ng’onamo will be deputised by first assistant coach Joseph Kamwendo and second assistant coach Albert Mpinganjira.

Wanderers Secretary to the Board Humphreys Mvula, while confirming the changes, said Ng’onamo had his backroom staff have been given a target of winning the league title and a cup this coming season.

“Indeed, we have hired the services of Mr Ng’onamo to be our coach and we have also released the squad that will play for Wanderers this coming season. We are hopeful that this squad will bring back happiness to Wanderers supporters. It is not a secret that we struggled during the past three seasons,” Mvula said.

Ng’onamo asked for oneness and teamwork for the side to regain its glory.

“I am satisfied with the squad we have assembled. We can achieve our targets if we are united. It is all about team work. I have heard about what they want and it will not be an easy task. Wanderers are a big side and they always aim high. I will make sure that there’s discipline in the team because discipline is paramount,” Ng’onamo, who has had stints with Wanderers and their rivals Nyasa Big Bullets.

The Nomads have also roped in their former goalkeeper Simplex Nthala as third assistant coach and physical trainer whereas Foster Namwera has been maintained as the club’s team manager. Levison Mwale has been named team doctor.

Meanwhile, Wanderers has also confirmed the squad of 26 players that has been registered for 2022 season.
