Mighty Wanderers, Silver Strikers face test

TNM Super League leaders Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers are on the road this weekend as they face unpredictable opponents.
Silver travel to Kasungu to face TN Stars, who forced defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets to a goal-less draw last week whereas the Nomads will face Karonga United at Karonga Stadium this afternoon before meeting Chitipa United 24 hours later.
Ahead of the clash, Silver Assistant Coach Macdonald Mtetemera was upbeat of collecting maximum points.
“We are not intimidated with what happened last week. We are minding our business and this is a different match,” Mtetemera said.
Silver lead the log table with 38 points from 16 matches, five points above Bullets, who host Ekwendeni Hammers at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon. But Silver have a game in hand.
In the first round, Silver thrashed Stars 4-0 at Silver Stadium.
Up north, the Nomads would be looking for revenge against Karonga after suffering a 2-0 loss at home.
The Nomads have been in an impressive form, having won two consecutive matches against Civil Service United (2-1) and Kamuzu Barracks (2-0).
Wanderers are fifth with 25 points from 16 matches, just one point above Karonga.
In Blantyre, Bullets also face a test when hosting Ekwendeni. Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa refused to underrate the league debutants.
“Ekwendeni is one of the teams that can cause upsets so we need to put everything in order,” Pasuwa said.
Seven points separate Bullets and Ekwendeni as the rookies are third with 26 points from 16 matches.
In other matches this afternoon, Civil Service United host Tigers at Civo Stadium whereas Blue Eagles will be in action against Mzuzu Warriors.
