Millias Pofera’s exit affects Mzuni FC
Mzuni FC have admitted that the resignation of their assistant coach Millias Pofera has affected the deposed TNM Super League leaders.
The team’s Chairperson, Albert Harawa, said this at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo, Chikwawa on Sunday after losing 2-0 to Nyasa Big Bullets through Bright Munthali and Fischer Kondowe’s goals.
During the match, Mzuni Coach, Alex Ngwira, received matching orders, which rendered the team helpless without an assistant coach on the bench.
“It is a bad situation. As you saw today after our coach was sent off, we had no one to issue instructions to the boys. Thanks to our Goalkeeper Trainer, Chawanangwa Manda, who stepped in. Soon, we will unveil Pofera’s replacement as we have identified him. The problem is that Jegwe [Pofera] left abruptly and we couldn’t have forced him to stay,” Harawa said.
Pofera resigned from the part-time coaching job after his current employer, Ministry of Health, rejected his request for a transfer from Lilongwe to Mzuzu.
Mzuni have now lost once in six league games and are on position five with nine points.
