Minister dates dance troupes

Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Culture Michael Usi has underscored the importance of dance troupes in tourism attraction.
The minister said this on Friday when he interacted with some of the dance troupes in the Southern Region at Chichiri Museum in Blantyre.
Usi said there is a need to support the dance troupes.
He added that the ministry has put in place different strategies to promote the country’s culture as a way of attracting tourists.
“One of the plans is what I have done today by enlightening the troupes on how they can coin messages that can appeal to Malawian and international tourists,” he said.
A member of Village Cultural Troupe Gift Msosomela expressed gratitude to the minister for the interaction adding that they have been motivated.
“We will take the advice the minister has given us especially advising us to be vibrant in the way we perform and also come up with good and appealing songs,” Msosomela said.
