The Institute of Marketing in Malawi (IMM) in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism have organised a public lecture on tourism to be held on April 5 in Lilongwe.
The event comes ahead of the two-day Takulandirani Malawi International Tourism Expo to be held from April 26.
IMM Vice President and Public Relations Director George Damson said the public lecture, which will be held under the theme The Value of Tourism to Malawi; Building National Consciousness’, is part of the institute’s contribution to national development.
“This theme was birthed out of the realisation that tourism holds potential in turning around the fortunes of our country,” he said.
Ministry of Tourism Principal Secretary Chauncy Simwaka said the expo is one of the key marketing activities utilised to grow domestic, regional and international tourism traffic to Malawi.
The Takulandirani Malawi International Tourism Exposition will happen for the first time after taking a two-year break due to Covid.
