Miracle Gabeya doing miracles?
Nyasa Big Bullets’ defender, Miracle Gabeya, has reportedly shown early promise in his trials at Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa.
However, save for media reports suggesting that the Flames’ defender is impressing; there is no confirmation from the Absa Premier Soccer League side.
South Africa football magazine, Kick-Off ’s online edition reported yesterday that Chiefs have trimmed the number of trialists from four to two—Gabeya and Italian forward Gustavo Paez.
Kick-Off claim that Gabeya has been solid at training, but his signing will depend on Chiefs’ defender, Lorenzo Gordino, passing trials at Danish club, Aalborg BK.
Gabeya and Gustavo have since travelled with the squad for Chiefs’ mid-season camp in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
Commenting on the trials, former Chiefs captain, Patrick Mabedi, said he had no doubt that Gabeya will sign for the Soweto giants.
“I have been talking to him on the phone through the club’s Team Manager [Bobby Motaung] and it seems he is good. Hearing comments from the Chiefs technical panel, Gabeya is outstanding and he has impressed the coach. Let us wish him well,” Mabedi said.
Nevertheless, Bullets Chairperson, Noel Lipipa, recently said he was not aware that Gabeya is undergoing trials with Chiefs.
