The Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (Mitc) has plans to conduct exporter training programmes with an aim of developing and building the marketing capacity of producers and exporters to address production gaps and increase exports.
Mitc Public Relations Manager, Deliby Chimbalu, said the development seminars are to be conducted in the three regions of the country, starting with the Central Region (Lilongwe) on 15 June 2017.
“Through these seminars, we want to equip the participants with export marketing tools such as export procedures, pricing, export plans, export market analysis, export quality and financing,” Chimbalu said.
Chimbalu further said participants would be given an opportunity to network through Business to Business meetings with trade support institutions as well as financial institutions.
Mitc has been recording export orders of various products, but most of them are not supplied due to, among other things, low production levels.
