All is set for Nyasa Big Bullets’ Supporters Committee’s elections in Zomba today. But beyond the thrill of winning positions and the heartache of defeat, there is more at stake for the football giant.

Other contentious issues, such as deciding whether to hold Bullets’ Executive Committee’s elections and the team’s ownership, are expected to be tabled during the annual general meeting at Gymkhana Club.

It is expected that the Supporters’ Committee to be ushered in office today, will in consultation with the trustees, decide whether to hold the main committee’s polls.

The fans are also likely to delve into the issue of Bullets’ ownership with some calling for sponsor, Nyasa Manufacturing Company, to take over the team and turn the giant into a self-sustainable entity.

However, some quarters in the team are against such an idea, insisting that the team is for the common man on the street.

The current status gives fans so much power and they end up bringing confusion in the club, thereby undermining its growth.

Little wonder, Bullets, like most local giants, do not own any worthwhile asset and often operates on hand-to-mouth basis.

Overall, incumbent Bullets’ Supporters Committee Chairperson, Stone Mwamadi, is expected to, without breaking sweat, retain his position.

The real battle will be on the vice-chairmanship which has attracted Bruno Gama and George Wonderson.

Former general secretary, Mabvuto Chibambo, is back to reclaim his post. Chibambo faces the challenge of Emmanuel Chikoti and William Allub.

The post of vice-General Secretary has attracted Chisomo Chikwembani and Watson Masika. Davie Matemba and Chingeni Kadamanja are eyeing the seat of Treasurer.

Mabvuto Njuzi, Ganizani Mpinganjira and Yohane Piyo will contest for the seat of vice- Treasurer.

Aspiring committee members are Jack Mavutula, William Chiuzeni, Magie Kamala, Gimlet Chuma, Wonderful Belo, Frank Makalani, Steven Saizi, Judith Chinyama and Julias Matiki.
