YEARNING FOR SUPPORT—Mr Zomba bodybuilding and powerlifting competition

Support for this year’s Mr Zomba bodybuilding and powerlifting competition continues to pour in, with Bliss Car Hire contributing K250,000 and 30 T-shirts.

The firm joins Sanwecka Technologies and Zomba Central Member of Parliament Bester Awali, in providing support to the event.

Last month, Sanwecka contributed K850,000 worth of sponsorship while Awali parted with K200,000.

One of the competition’s organisers, Bright Limani, commended Bliss Car Hire for the donation, saying it would help in meeting some of the competition’s expenses.

“It is pleasing that we are getting more support. We feel greatly humbled. We are therefore working hard to organise a better competition this year.

“People should expect fireworks in December. Competitors have started training and are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations,” Limani said. He appealed for more support to meet the competition’s budget of K1.5 million.

Bliss Car Hire representative, Robert Yusuf, said they were delighted to return to the competition after supporting it last year.

“We are happy to be associated with this competition. We believe that health and fitness are important for everyone. We were there last year and we are back. We promise to come back next year with more,” Yusuf said.

The competition started in 2013 and has been dominated by Malawi Defence Force soldiers.

Kondwani Mauluka is the powerlifting champion while the bodybuilding title is being held by Ophaniel Kanyenda.
