Moyale Barracks sack Collins Nkuna

Moyale Barracks have sacked coach Collins Nkuna after a poor start to the season.

Following Nkuna’s sacking, Nicholas Mhango has returned to the club as head coach and he will be assisted by Victor Chingoka, Pritchard Mwanza and Alfred Chilemba.

Victor Phiri is back at the side as assistant Team Manager.

Moyale General Secretary Flow Mwale said the reshuffle in technical panel was due to redeployment of Nkuna to other duties within the Malawi Defence Force.

“We have reshuffled the technical panel because Mr Nkuna has been assigned other duties. Let me make it clear, he has not been fired but we have just brought in Mr Mhango, who was busy with studies,” he said.

Mhango was not readily available for his comment Tuesday.

The Lions of Kaning’ina have only gathered two points from five matches in this campaign and suffered a humiliating 5-1 loss to TNM Super League defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets on Saturday in Blantyre.

Nkuna said he was unaware of his sacking yesterday.

“I am hearing it from you. I am off duty after two matches in Blantyre,” he said.

Nkuna replaced newly appointed Kamuzu Barracks coach Charles Kamanga.

Moyale are second from bottom with just two points whereas Savenda Chitipa United anchor the log table with one point from four matches.
