Moyale Barracks FC have vowed to end Be Forward Wanderers’ history of clinching local inaugural cups.

Moyale arrived in Lilongwe on Wednesday ahead of the Airtel Top 8 Cup semi-final battle against the Nomads at Bingu National Stadium on Sunday.

Coming from a 6-2 goal aggregate win over their fellow soldiers, Mafco FC, in the quarter-final, Moyale Interim Coach, Charles Kamanga, said his charges were determined to reach the final.

Kamanga said they were determined to end Wanderers’ cup exploits, hence the early camp training in Lilongwe.

He added that his camp has been boosted by the return of key player Sandres Munthali who missed the second leg of the quarter-final.

“We have relocated to Lilongwe to get set for the game. Our mission is to silence our counterparts [Wanderers] and end their record of clinching newly-introduced cups. We won against them [3-2] in a friendly match during the pre-season. This time around, it will be tough but we will make it,” Kamanga said.

Meanwhile, Wanderers have welcomed from injury their hitman Peter Wadabwa.

But the Nomads Team Manager, Steve Madeira, said the team’s doctors will advise the coaches on the match-fitness of Wadabwa.

“His comeback will add value to the team. We need such kind of players as we prepare to face Moyale,” Madeira said.

The Nomads won 3-1 on goal aggregate against Azam Tigers in the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has pegged the Nomads’ game against Moyale at K2,000, K5,000 and K7,000 for open stands, covered stands, VIP and cooperate boxes, respectively.

Tomorrow’s other semi-final between Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium is pegged at K1,000 for the open terraces, K3,000 for covered stands with the VIP pegged at K5,000.
