Mozambican giants eye Chawanangwa Kawonga
Mozambican football giants, Costa do Sol, are reportedly battling for the signature of talented Malawian striker Chawanangwa Kawonga.
The former Silver Strikers forward is contracted to another Mozambican side, Chibuto, but Costa want to buy out his contract in the January transfer window.
Kawonga’s manager, Fred Kalonga, yesterday confirmed that Costa want to sign the former Malawi under-20 national football team player.
“The deal is 90 percent done. The remaining thing was the contractual issue between Chibuto and Kawonga. Once everything is sorted out, Kawonga will be playing for Costa next season,” Kalonga said.
Costa have reportedly earmarked Kawonga as a replacement for compatriot Richard Mbulu, who is heading for Portugal in January.
Costa are also interested in Silver forward Mathews Sibale and Khuda Muyaba of Moyale Barracks.
Silver General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, yesterday confirmed that the Mozambican giants have enquired about the availability of Sibale.
