Musician Anthony Mr Cool Makondetsa, who performs with Black Missionaries, has said he will be releasing singles later this year.
He, however, ruled out the possibility of releasing an album this year saying, for now, people have to embrace Kuimba 12 album by Black Missionaries.
“This time, people have to enjoy the four songs that Black Missionaries has released and then the whole album, which will be ready by November. But I will be releasing a single or two shortly and then work on the album next year,” the ‘Mbumba ya Abrahamu’ creator said.
He said it had been hard for the creative sector with Covid, which has for a long time relegated them to no shows due to restrictions.
“We just have to continue to pray so that the situation should return to normal. We love performing and entertaining people. We are happy that the cases have gone down now and may it be like that,” Makondetsa said.
He said they were happy to make a return to the stage and that people should brace for more shows.
Makondetsa and Black Missionaries, alongside other Chileka siblings such as Khozie Masimbe and Moda Fumulani, are also set to hold shows in the Central and Northern regions.
He is also expected to perform at this year’s Sand Music Festival alongside Black Missionaries from October 1 to 3 at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi District.
“We just have to continue following Covid measures and those who want to vaccinate can do so,” Makondetsa said.
