Soldier Lucius Banda’s son Johnny Mr Zembani on Friday returned to the stage with Zembani Band to entertain people at Club 9, formerly Vibes, in Zomba, where he came face to face with veteran musician Phungu Joseph Nkasa.

On a cold night, Nkasa, who recently got a donation of a Sienta, excited the audience.

The other artists that performed at the show include DNA.

With his father missing out during the show, Mr Zembani bridged the gap showing that he has potential to progress in music.

Still without his own songs except a love single he released in February ahead of Valentine’s Day, the youthful artist made sure he represented his father well when he dished out several of his songs including ‘Mzimu wa Soldier’, ‘Usalire’, ‘Pharao’, ‘Paulendo’, ‘Zidutswa’, and ‘Nthawi’.

“It’s been some time since we had shows, we have been on a long break due to Covid and it’s good to be back,” Mr Zembani said.

A fan, Topkings Liwewe, said he enjoyed the show.

“We missed these shows but with things opening up as regards Covid, we are happy to have this show,” Liwewe said.

Club 9’s Director Francis Chalera said he was impressed with a turnout.

“People should expect more shows to be hosted by Club 9 this year,” Chalera said.

Mr Zembani and crew on Saturday performed at Mibawa Multipurpose Hall in Blantyre in a fundraising show before finishing off the weekend with a show at Club 24/7 in Blantyre yesterday.
