Malawi Union of Academic and Non-fiction Authors (Muana) has a new executive, which will serve a three-year term following elections which took place on Saturday at Dedza Mountain View Lodge.

The elections were part of the activities during the association’s annual general meeting (AGM).

The rest of the members of the executive are new faces, except Ron Muphuwa, who was part of the outgoing executive and was elected on the position of president unopposed.

Ahead of the elections, Muphuwa called for support from the corporate world, saying they have a number of projects they would like to implement.

“We are trying on our own to raise funds but we still need support from well-wishers and the corporate world,” Muphuwa said.
