Mulanje Last monitors boxers preparations
Mulanje Last Boxing Promotions has intensified mission to develop another generation of boxers and the stable has expressed optimism with four boxers set to feature in the July 6 bill.
Boniface Sitenela is set to take on George Kandulo in a non-title contest while Tinkhani Kamanga will face Aubrey Masamba.
Mulanje Last Boxing Promotion managing director, Mike Chitenje, said he was currently monitoring the performance of the quartet before the contest.
“As Mulanje Last Boxing Promotions, we always strive to give fans the best. We don’t want to give them a raw deal. In the meantime we are busy monitoring the performance of the four boxers ahead of the bill,” he said.
Chitenje said the local boxing fraternity should embrace the quartet because it was capable of emulating what revered boxers had done.
“As promoters, we should take it upon ourselves to help boxers that are yet to make names to get exposure and make names for themselves,” he said.
Meanwhile, both Sitenala and Kamanga said preparations for the forthcoming bill were shaping correctly.
Sitenala, who will face Kandulo, said he wanted to use the fight to revive his career.
“I am training very hard to make a name for myself. I know George Kandulo has an impressive record at amateur level. This time around, he will be fighting in professional,” he said.
On his part, Kamanga said he wanted to show promoters time was ripe for him to turn professional.
