The stage for this year’s Fifa World Cup has been set with DStv service provider MultiChoice Malawi hyping the global competition ahead of its kickoff in Qatar on November 20.

MultiChoice Malawi Corporate Affairs Manager Zena Makunje said they are promoting the contest using DStv Blue Chair and GOAT (greatest of all time) campaigns.

Makunje said Blue Chair is one of the promotions the company is using to create engaging touch points for the DStv brand.

“We have dispersed DStv Blue Chairs across Malawi. Each blue chair contains a QR code which will grant our customers access to information on the World Cup when scanned. It will also give them content and self-service options through the DStv app.

“These chairs can be found at popular stop overs, barbershops, taxi ranks and highly populated areas across Malawi. They will be in these areas indefinitely,” she said.

Makunje said they are also running a GOAT campaign on the GOtv Malawi Facebook page with the objective of driving customer engagement and user generated content.

“The GOAT competition acknowledges the greatest sporting heroes of our time who will play in the Fifa World Cup for the last time. Active subscribers stand a chance to win Gocoders, subscriptions and an actual live goat.

“We have painted five GOAT murals in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre. Entry into the competition requires collecting all the five murals in any of the three cities, taking a picture and tagging GOtv Malawi on Facebook using #GOtvCollectGOATs. All participants should ensure that their Facebook profiles are public in order for their entry to qualify,” she said.

Makunje said the GOtv Collect GOATs competition closes on December 18.

She said winners will be selected at random using a lucky draw with terms and conditions applying.
