High court Judge Maclean Kamwambe was on Monday forced to adjourn
former president Bakili Muluzi and his former personal assistant
Lyness Whiskey K1.7 billion corruption case after the second
defendant, Whiskey, collapsed in the dock during the cross-examination
of first State witness, Victor Banda.
Lead counsel Tamando Chokotho was within the first 20 minutes into the
third day of cross-examining Banda when Whiskey, who is the only
accused person sitting in the dock, showed the signs of not feeling
well.
The situation forced High Court Judge Maclean Kamwambe to adjourn the
case to pave way for an assessment on Whiskey’s medical condition.
