Mum North chapter chair, Owen Kayange in album launches


Musicians Union of Malawi (Mum) Northern Region chapter chairperson Fitzgerald Simfukwe and gospel musician Owen Kayange will be busy this weekend launching their albums.
Simfukwe known for his Kandundulu projects will be launching his 13-track Best of Kadundulu at Grand Palace in Mzuzu Saturday night.
The reggae artist said he recorded the album following requests from people from people.
“I am ready for the launch and people should expect nothing but the best,” he said.
Some of the artists set to spice Simfukwe’s album launch include Moffart William Phiri and Malson Nkhata.
Meaniwhile Kayange, who in 2017 held a fundraising show in Blantyre for a child whose mother died few days after giving birth, will be launching his 10-track album Khethe Khethe ndi Yesu at Squirrels Park in Mzuzu on Sunday.
“This is my sixth album. All songs are in Chichewa except one which is in my mother language called Chindali from Chitipa,” he said.
The musician will be launching both the CD and DVD to be spiced up by other musicians including Miracle Chinga Mpukunya, Shammah Vocals, Marvellous Deeds and Steve Wazisomo Muliya.
