Netherlands-based model and former Miss Malawi organiser Mabel Banda Khonje has brought in artists to spice up the launch of her Boudoir Dollmabel lingerie line to be held next Saturday at in Lilongwe.

The launch in the country follows a successful launch in Netherlands.

“It is a package and this is why I thought of adding artists on the line-up just to give people enough entertainment apart from the launch of Dollmabel lingerie line,” she said.

The launch, running under the theme ‘Unleash the Goddess in You’ will feature performances of Lily B, Lucent the Violinist and DJ Nathan Tunes.

“I had to do it at home as well and the way we launched it in Netherlands is different from the launch we are having in Lilongwe. I am happy that a lot of people have expressed interest to attend the launch,” Mabel said.

She said she has brought in Lily Banda to spice up the launch as the headliner “because Boudoir is about unleashing the goddess”.

“Lily has what it takes to resonate with the show, she is eccentric and we needed someone who will be able to give the launch the feel and vibe we are looking for,” Mabel said.

She added that she wants the launch to be intimate but also versatile and that Lucent the Violinist will set the tone.

“DJ Nathan, we are also looking to attract the younger generation. He will be able to attract the younger generation,” the model said.

The launch of the lingerie line also comes barely three years after Mabel launched her Dollmabel Matt lipstick.

The launch at Latitude 13 is strictly by invitation and that people are expected to bring the invitation card.

“For Covid-19 pandemic purposes, we are restricting numbers as such people are kindly asked to confirm by September 18 (today). People will enjoy cocktail and we will also have a pop up stall,” Mabel said.

The launch will be followed by an after party at Epic Lounge.

The model has moved into a fashion line of lingerie that has not been fully exploited in the country.

The lingerie which she created and designed, is part of fashion family although this is a category of primary women’s clothing including undergarments such as sleep wear and pants.
