Now, mdzukulu, perhaps Paramount Chief Kyungu of Karonga and Chitipa does not know. If there is psychosis in the world, Mutharika’s remarks just signify one such lunacy of the highest order than Kyungu’s.
The remarks, indeed, denote Mutharika is such a yoke of mediocrity hanging heavy over our nation, sinking it and suffocating it, with each passing day.
Mutharika’s and Kuyungu’s – who Sunday during the official inaugrattion of the K60 million Karonga Stadium referred to critics of Muthrika’s administration as fools—is leadership full of imprudence.
The remarks are a sign, mdzukulu, that a four-year courtship with Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) mediocrity has brought us to the edge of the abyss of cluelessness and an embrace of Mutharika and his DPP is no doubt an until-death marriage with the conjugal rewards of the extremes of hopeless economic stagnation, abject poverty and a dearth of a reasoned existence for our nation.
Muthrika is too predatory, visionless or firefighting leader to engineer the country to social and economic success it desires.
The President’s leadership—as witnessed by opting for hired genset for power generation—is without the altitude and vision of the eagle, to see far but the altitude and vision of the crow, to see no further than the next rubbish dump for scavenging.
The diesel-powered gensets, mdzukulu, the Mutharika administration eulogises have not come at a cheap cost for the whole country leader to be dreaming about growing the economy and whatever other hallucinations.
For instance, The Nation in November last year reported that the gensets the Electricity Generation Company planned to install at Luwinga in Mzuzu will consume fuel estimated at K587 million a month to produce six megawatts (MW) of power.

He said: “Today, we are commissioning 55 megawatts added to the national grid. The first 35 megawatts is installed here in Blantyre while 20 megawatts is already installed in Lilongwe. We are expecting 23 more megawatts to be installed at Chinyama in Kasungu,” he said.
Now, mdzukulu, basing on the Mzuzu genset figures, to generate the 78MW Mutharika is hyping about, the country will spend K7.631 billion a month on fuel.
You would need to have an detergent-washed brain – in Bingu wa Mutharika’s sense – to believe that someone will end poverty, make Malawi a big economy in order to create jobs and make this country a producing and exporting nation with this upside-down thinking in Kyungu’s sense.
