DONE DEAL—Mkandawire extends an elbow greeting to Meke after signing the pact

Mybucks Banking Corporation and Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC) last week sealed a deal aimed at offering convenient and simplified banking services to a wider range of customers as a contribution towards the national financial inclusion drive.

Through the partnership, the two institutions aim at driving financial inclusion and making a positive social impact among Malawians who are financially excluded and those that live far from fully fledged MyBucks branches.

This partnership will enable customers with a MyBucks account to access banking services such as making cash deposits and withdrawals at any MPC branches countrywide MyBucks’ Chief Commercial Officer Bernard Mkandawire was excited with the partnership.

“We believe that this pact with MPC will give our existing and potential customers the ultimate convenience that meets their needs and expectations and also help us make a positive social impact as we will be able to reach out to the unbanked by leveraging off the MPC wide network in remote areas,” Mkandawire said.

He further said the agreement a right step towards realising the bank’s aspiration of becoming the best in Malawi by social impact.

Acting Postmaster General Zacchaeus Meke, said MPC had 180 outlets across the country which would be ideal for the bank to stretch its audience reach.

He said MPC had a business turn-around strategy which has been devised to guide and propel business in a progressive and profitable manner for success.

“As a public service provider, we find this partnership with MyBucks bank an opportunity to complement government’s development efforts by affording total financial inclusion among the people,” Meke said.

MyBucks Malawi has branches in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Zomba, Mangochi, Dzaleka, Kasungu and Madisi.

It has a fully-fledged delivery channel of 17 branches, over 80 agents and 30 ATMS across the country, offering a full range of banking products and services that include Bancassurance and microfinance products.
