Mzuni FC line up fundraising activities
Three months after declaring a K35 million deficit, Mzuni FC have lined up fundraising activities to meet the shortfall.
The Super League outfit will start its fundraising activities with a music show at Luwinga Township in Mzuzu this weekend.
The show will involve Mzuzu-based Pasada and R n B artist, Blessings Bwanali, according to the club’s Chairperson, Albert Harawa.
“This show is just a starter.
Looking at the catchment area of the activity, we are targeting more than K2 million,” he said.
“From there, we will proceed with Black Missionaries. We have a huge deficit and we feel it is high time we started mobilising funds to fill those financial gaps as soon as we can.”
Mzuni budgeted K66 million for the 2017 season, which kickoff over the weekend.
Mzuini’s main sponsor, Mzuzu University, pumped K31 million into the team.
Mzuni will get their 2017 season underway against Blue Eagles at Nankhaka on Saturday.
The Mzuzu-based side finished on position nine last season.
