Mzuni students torch a minibus

Hell broke loose Wednesday Morning along the Karonga-Mzuzu M1 road after irate students at the Mzuzu University torched a minibus.

The minibus hit a first year student.

The student Sam Banda is said to have been crossing the road to the campus for the ongoing student registration exercise which has since been suspended following the incident

President for the Student’s Union Wazamazama Katatu says the driver who is yet to be identified together with the conductor jumped out of the vehicle and fled.

Police spokesperson Martin Bwanali has confirmed that Banda has died.

He was a first year student at the Education Sciences department.
