Mzuzu United players up for grabs
Northern Region Premier Division side, Mzuzu United, say they are ready to sell their players to other teams that are interested in them.
The club’s official, Lackson Mauluka, on Monday said four Super League teams are eyeing players such as striker Collen Nkulambe and midfield-winger Madalitso Chiumia.
Chiumia is among the players that were offloaded by Silver Strikers before the kick-off of the Super League, and he had a stint with Mzuni but he was not signed.
Nkulambe displayed an outstanding performance during the Carlsberg Cup round of-16 clash against Wizards.
“Our target is to nurture and promote football talent among these lads, therefore, we will have to discuss with the Super League teams on the conditions,” Mauluka said
“However, we must make it clear that as a way of promoting them, one condition will be to look at the team which will provide game-time to the players.”
Mauluka said the selling of the players will not affect the team’s performance in the Simama division.
“We do not have restrictions on the number of players that can be signed by other teams. We have more players in our camp that can fill the gap,” he added.
Mzuzu is on position nine in the Simama league table with 20 points from 10 games, having won six, drawn two and lost two.
Mauluka was non-committal to mention the clubs that are interested in signing the players but unconfirmed reports have suggest that Nyasa Big Bullets and Azam Tigers are the potential suitors.
