Nam outline umpiring, coaching courses

BAPU—We want netball coaches and umpires to be equipped

Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have outlined plans to run umpiring and coaching courses.

Nam General Secretary Carol Bapu said they have selected facilitators to handle the exercise.

She said Malawi national netball team coach Peace Chawinga- Kaluwa, Nam Technical Director Samuel Kanyenda, Joseph Mazaza and Ministry of Sports Netball Director Mary Waya would be responsible of coaching courses.

The association has also picked Whyte Mulilima, Rebecca Dulanya, Titus Wankhama, Kelita Hau and Kossam Mphande to facilitate umpiring courses.

Bapu said the on-going courses will be done in four netball regions [South, East, Central and Northern].

“This exercise is aimed at developing netball. We want netball coaches and umpires to be equipped with modern skills,” she said.

The Nam GS said specific details about the exercise on venue and dates will be released later.
