Nasir Surtee, Bose Kamphulusa in Techno Brain golf glory

Nasir Surtee and Bose Kamphulusa underlined their class to win the Techno Brain golf tournament at Country Club Limbe on Saturday.

Surtee, playing off handicap 15, emerged the men’s winner with 83 points after posting 68 net.

Goodwin Chimseu, playing of handicap 14, was counted out and finished second with 83 points.

The third position went to Rajiv Rawat, playing off handicap 15.

The men’s winner, Surtee, said his performance on the greens was superb.

“I had one of my best performances. Of course, my front was not that good but I picked myself up to win this competition. My drives were good and the greens were playing very well,” he said.

In the ladies’ section, Kamphulusa, emerged winner whereas Joline Bapu-Pereirra followed on second position.

Kamphulusa paid tribute to her playing partners and Techno Brain for sponsoring the tournament.

“The tournament was timely and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. My playing partners were fantastic and the greens were also good,” she said.

In subsdiary prizes, Harold ‘Shoulder Master’ Lungu won the nearest to the pin in the men’s section whereas Rashid Salimu won the longest drive.

Bapu-Pereirra won the ladies’ longest drive but there was no female golfer who hit nearest to the pin.

Techno Brain Account Manager, Ann-marie Morin, said it was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to give back to the community and its business partners.

“We took advantage of this tournament to showcase our solutions and let people know what we do. We also wanted to give back through sponsoring corporate activities like this competition,” Morin said.

Country Club Limbe Golf Captain, Yotamu Saka, also thanked Techno Brain for supporting the game.

“I am also happy that all participating golfers have expressed satisfaction with the condition of our golf course. This will encourage us to continue looking after the playing surface so that we maintain the standards,” Saka said.
