National Bank of Malawi gives K1 million to Rotaract Club

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has contributed a K1 million to the Blantyre Rotaract Club project for building an eco-friendly library at Ndirande Primary School.

NBM plc Service Centre Manager for Henderson Street Service Centre Tamara Mtuwa said the bank believes in supporting education.


“As a good corporate citizen, NBM plc strives to make a difference to the lives of the less-privileged by laying an educational foundation especially for the pupils of Ndirande Primary School through the eco-friendly library that Blantyre Rotaract Club is building,” Mtuwa said.

Blantyre Rotaract Club president-elect Khumbo Mhone thanked the bank for the support.

“We have been hoping to reach out to the corporate world to help us with our project and NBM plc has heeded to our call,” said Mhone.


The Blantyre Rotaract Club is a service club for people aged 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service.

The club has embarked on the eco-friendly library project which will cost K14 million.
