National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has donated K3 million towards the three-day Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (Icam) lakeshore conference, which will start on Thursday in Mnagochi District.
The conference, to be held under the theme ‘Navigating the Rough Economic Terrain; seeks to equip about 500 participants to chart the way forward for businesses and the economy amid effects of the Covid pandemic.
NBM’s Head of Internal Audit Daniel Jere said the bank was committed to helping towards attaining the indaba’s objective.
“Making this conference a success has a mutual benefit as the bank’s employees will get to interact with fellow business players,” he said.
Icam Chief Executive Officer Francis Gondwe hailed the bank for the support.
“We are grateful to all the sponsors that have assisted us this far. We are grateful to National Bank for being the latest sponsors of the conference,” he said.
Vice President Saulos Chilima would grace the opening of the indaba.
