The process of integrating Indebank into operations of National Bank of Malawi (NBM), will see NBM investing in modern banking facilities in areas where the bank has maintained its operations following the successful acquisition of Indebank, NBM officials said this at the weekend.
NBM has already started implementing this strategic direction, giving a facelift to its Salima service centre to accommodate customers that have joined the bank from Indebank.
The new facility now has a spacious banking hall, additional counters, large parking space and new security features.
National Bank Chief Executive Officer, George Partridge, said growing economic activities in the district necessitated the establishment of the modern banking facility so that the bank can effectively tap into the new market.
“This growth of business coincided with the bank’s acquisition of Indebank. We saw it as an opportunity for the bank to stamp its authority in this town by distinguishing ourselves through investment in this first class banking facility,” Partridge said.
Matthew Masoapyola, a customer of NBM based in Salima, applauded the bank for the innovation. He said customers of NBM are now assured of getting quality services.
National Bank invested K250 million to refurbish the facility.
