National Bank of Malawi supports Fimda indaba

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) on Wednesday gave K500,000 to the Financial Market Dealer’s Association (Fimda) for hosting of its 2019 lake conference.
NBM Treasury Sales Manager, Grace Linda Phiri, said the bank has supported Fimda’s conference as it would help grow the profession.
Phiri said NBM benefits from innovations developed through such conferences.
“A dealer must always be up to date, sober, professional, of utmost integrity in carrying everyday duties, an aspect that Fimda helps us achieve,” Phiri said.
Receiving the donation, Fimda Treasurer, Douglas Nyirenda, said the support shows the bank’s commitment to developing a strong network of financial market players.
Nyirenda said some of the issues to be discussed at the conference are product innovations in declining margins within Malawi and beyond.
“We need to keep up with developments that are happening around the globe on the financial markets and doing that through Fimda as a network helps develop suitable solution for economic growth” Nyirenda said.
He said the conference will also bring together government officials and key contributors to the financial markets to strategise on dealing with adversities in the industry.
The conference will be held in Mangochi from October 11 to 132019 under the theme; Navigating Next Level for the Economy and Financial Markets.
