National Planning Commission takes vision to implementors

In a bid to familiarise stakeholders with the Malawi 2063, a long term development blueprint, the National Planning Commission (NPC) is distributing the document to institutions in the country.
The commission is targeting city councils, district councils, schools and National Initiative for Civic Education (Nice) Trust offices, among other organisations.
The Malawi 2063 is a blueprint guiding the country towards inclusively wealth creation and becoming self-reliant by 2063.
NPC spread itself in four teams to spread the document in the south, east, central and the northern regions to different stakeholders.
Speaking at a symbolic handover to Blantyre City Council (BCC), NPC Communications Specialist Thom Khanje said the commission is taking the vision to the people as they are key in its implementation.
“NPC coordinated its formulation and will oversee implementation but the actual implementors are the councils, government ministries and stakeholders, so; we are making sure that all the stakeholders have the document,” he said.
BCC Acting Chief Executive Officer Costly Chanza expressed commitment in helping to fulfil the aspirations of the vision.
