Nchalo United’s dream of securing TNM Super League promotion from the Southern Region Football Association’s Premier Division is on the boil.

Despite dropping points in a 0-0 draw against Cobbe Barracks over the weekend, Nchalo remain at the summit of the log table with 66 points from 28 games.

Chikwawa United, who will play against Cobbe Barracks and Bvumbwe United this weekend, are on second place with 59 points.

Nchalo Coach, Mabvuto Lungu, said he was aware of the threat posed by Chikwawa and has advised his boys to aim at maximum points this weekend as they take on White Eagles and Nanzikambe.

“We are operating in a very conducive environment and we need to win every game. Returning to the Super League is possible but it will not come on a silver-platter,” Lungu said.

Elsewhere, the Northern Region Football Association’s Simama Premier Division is for Karonga United to lose as they lead the standings with 52 points, two points ahead of second-placed Chilumba Barracks.

Karonga thrashed 15th-placed Embangweni United 4-0 on Sunday, a day after seeing off Manyamula 3-0 at Karonga Community Centre Ground.

Karonga Coach, Dave Muyombe, said his charges would remain focused to make their Super League return dream a reality.

“That is exactly what every Karonga resident wants… to enjoy non-stop Super League action [next year]. We are on the right track to achieving that,” he said.

Bolero United have been leading the division for the majority of the season, but are now down to third spot with 48 points.
